Passionland.net Going Commercial
Last week I was in a car driving back from my Grandma’s house to my home town, and heard this VoA or BBC London news broadcast on the radio. It was about Indonesian blogs getting commercial, by putting online ad on their blog. It was an interesting review.
Once I got home, I hooked up to the net via dial-up (poor me), it was so damn slow. I checked my Gmail and it was like a prophecy, Yoris emailed me about the same thing I listened on the radio, and was asked to put it on our Passionland. So starting from today, if you looked below the Flickr section, you will find a couple of text ad (Google Adsense). The funds generated by this ad will be used to do online promotion of Passionland.net. Thanks to Andi for making this happened :)

Around 3 months ago; I’ve heard that Indonesia Central Bank (BI) had (finally) released a mobile payment regulation so mobile carriers can enable their customers to use their mobile phone as another official payment tools for any transaction (not just mobile contents).
Telkomsel is the first certified operator that has this service (launch around a month ago); but actually few years ago XL already tried to implemented it by a product called mWallet. Unfortunately, there they cant continue the product since there was no regulation about mobile payment.
How it works? Will it deduct my main balance or add my phone billing? NO with this mobile paymet product people will need to do a top-up for tCash account in appointed merchants then your phone become a ‘prepaid’/debit card –boring_stuff_end_here, click above image for more details :)–
It’s official that all mobile superiorities as a 7th mass media completely can also be enjoyed in Indonesia. Imagine; group of teenagers receive a promotion message about their favorite band concert in Jakarta. One of them have tCash. They can directly buy a concert ticket without need to run to the ATM and find a ticket box. –what a perfect world–
I believe there will be lot of ideas running around Octokers head…… :)
I’ve registered my number…. will share the experience later…..
meanwhile; please put up some relevant idea how we can maximize this…… will this new technology has a chance to grow in our market? what will be the best product to start?

James Bond, Michele Yeoh & May Huang

This is just a year-end news for Octokers
James Bond? Michele Yeoh? all of you know those two high-pofile figures, don’t you?
May Huang? sounds interesting? ring a bell? most probably no. don’ try to guess, she is not my girlfriend or ex-girlfriend anyway.
May Huang and other Mays and Huangs are clearly displayed on My Indonesia website which according to some rumours cost more than Rp 17billions!!!
Those Mays and Huangs give some testimonials on Indonesia and promise to do some buzz on Indonesia tourism. does it work? maybe yes maybe no
What about James Bond and Michele Yeoh. Imagine if they come to Jakarta and do some shots on the latest 007 film and brings some 70million US$ to Jakarta for that film? lot of money and lot of publication on our tourism?
Anyway, it’s not a dream nor an imagination. It’s real, unfortunately Indonesia’s tourism government reject James Bond!!! for a very simple reason : they do not like the film, too irrational!!!
what a pity!!!
for the real story please go to here.
a blog from Ketua Asosiasi Pekerja Film Iklan Indonesia, so absolutely credible. Yan or HL might know this guy, don’t you?
regards
