Stay Hungry Stay Foolish!!!

Hi guys… following Yan’s holiday love story, then this is the following holiday love story. Yan and I are both sleep, eat, read, sleep, eat and read but of course we sleep, eat and read at different places n different bed ;)lot of readings but one interesting story to show you is what has been said by Steve Jobs two years ago. the date was quite close to today’s and also close to the day I was resigning from my previous company. the question is why?

one of the most provoke things that came up to that decision was the unbelievable speech from Steve Jobs during Stanford’s Graduation Ceremony 2005

on that speech, he mentioned three main points

FIRST, CONNECTED DOTS. Believe it or not, sometime and most of the time in our life, we meet, connect and network with someone that we’ve never been imagine before. Some of us call it God’s hand, some of us call it just an accident and some of you might call it Karma. whatever it is, Steve Jobs called it as connected dot.

This is the personal story, I met Ben — our CEO — because of connected dots. I firstly knew Felix through marketing-club and then went to Bernhard, from the dot of Bernhard, meet another dot of my lovely honey — Yan — and from marketing-club I met another dot so called Yoris Sebastian. But in fact we can not predict what our future dots are going to be but we can look it backward, not forward for sure.

Sometime I try to look backward and probably this is the dot stated by Steve Jobs as happened to him during his struggle to build Apple Computer. At that time I did believe that probably I had found my dot and was the right time to start another journey. and again we can only look backward, not forward ;)

SECOND, LOVE and LOSS. this is another crazy point from Steve Jobs. Prior to build a giant of Apple Inc, he had an experience to be fired by his co-founder. Can you imagine? being fired by the company you build? But keep on positive thinking. It is part of another loss of Steve Jobs.

Anyway, Steve Jobs still love what he does and that everlasting love bring him back to Apple and now he change the world due to the love and loss of his life. let me quote some interesting speech from him

“I’m pretty sure none of this would have happened if I hadn’t been fired from Apple. It was awful tasting medicine, but I guess the patient needed it. Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don’t lose faith. I’m convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You’ve got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don’t settle”

Keep in mind on the last two word “DO NOT SETTLE”

To find what you love sometime you have to lose what you like (but actually you don’t love). So please do not settle, do what you love, keep on fighting. leave what you like but you do not love. at least, if you can not find what you love, love what you do and you have today!!!

THIRD. DEATH. seems weird, isn’t it? I do believe that most of you won’t like the discussion of death as some or most of you might probably rely on your God. Anyway, let me quote an interesting death story of Steve Jobs with was diagnosed with Cancer on 2004.

“”No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don’t want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life’s change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true.

Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”"

Yup, no one want to die. Whatever happen to us, do not let someone control our life. do not be trapped by dogma of other people.

from that three stories of Steve Jobs, the conclusion is simple, this was what Steve Jobs said “STAY HUNGRY STAY FOOLISH”

I feel I am hungry that’s why I came to Octovate
I feel I am too fool that’s why I came to Octovate

are you hungry? hungry for knowledge? hungry for innovation? hungry for achievement?
are you fool? if yes, then please read a lot to have lot of knowledge, learn a lot to have lot of ideas to innovate, fight a lot to have a great achievement

I give you the speech of Steve Jobs from youtube, please enjoy
