Eye-fi SD Card

Categories : Other

This morning I browsed my google reader, looked for some inspirations, ideas, and also tried to make this as a morning habit. And then I found this article about eye-fi SD card.

I don’t know if some of you might already know about this, but I just wanna share it here though. Maybe this is simple idea, but many times I face the problem when we go for trip, with our cameras, then the common problem is: it usually will need connection cable or card reader to share the photos. And I think this SD card will partly solve that problem, huh?

Never scrounge around for a USB cable again! Eye-fi is a magical orange SD memory card that will not only store 2GB worth of pictures, it’ll upload them to your computer, and to Flickr, Facebook, Picasa (or 14 others) wirelessly, invisibly, automatically!

This little guy looks like a normal 2GB memory card and works with nearly any camera that takes SD memory. There are no antennas, no protrusions, no subscription fees, and no cables.

Here’s how it works: You set up the card once with the included USB card reader (tell it which wireless network it should use, and type in the password if you have one), choose the photo sharing service of your choice (you have plenty of options), then slip the card in your camera.

Mobile: the most powerful thing!

Categories : InspirationsMarketingOctovate

Huhhh… Very tired and sleepy but still burned with passion about mobile marketing that discussed last night with H**o, hahaha. Go go go .juicer! I didn’t sleep last nite and just landed to Juanda Surabaya on 6:20 am. I’ll go back to Jakarta about a few hours later. I wanna share to you about my true story this morning. Because in a hurry, i left my mobile in my car. And i felt so worry, insecure, damn bad. Today i really think that mobile is so damn important in my life and i’m sure for everybody else. I’ve lived without TV about 1 year and i didn’t feel any lost. But now wow wow wow so damn fucking bad. Based on my true story above, i think we should think about the potential of mobile marketing. Sorry guys, we must move on from only think TVC-print ad to engagement marketing through mobile. Hehehe, officially i want to share to you that Octovate Group will born the new damn potential baby business division, called dot juicer (.juicer). Please support us! Thank you.  (note: now i’m waiting my client and of course reading my lovely Google Reader!)

Interactive Updates

Categories : DesignInteractive

It’s been really busy and exciting since our 2nd anniversary, or should we call it Passion Trip. Me and my team at Octodesign Interactive has been busy working on 4 exciting projects (with really close deadline), and it’s not easy working under excitement, because I want all this to turned out to be perfect, so I paid really close attention to the detail while everything goes in parallel. Salute to all the supporting team abroad, they’re all very good at what they’re doing!

One of the exciting projects in the pipeline is the long awaited Octovate.com. Yes, as you might all knew we’re now having only 1 paged website, but it’ll soon be changed, so stay tuned. A little spoil to the project, we’re going to experiment with AJAX, webstandard and SPRY. Ooo… it’s going to be technically sexy!

This whole thing isolate me from “what’s going on out there?”, so tonight I decided to take my time and surf around and here are some nice found:

  • Rubrik Revolution - Remember the cube with various colors to each side, the one you have to flip on to get the same color in each side, meet the revolution.
  • 2008 Calendar from Pentagram is in store.
  • Make my logo bigger cream, a nice viral by agency fusion. Dang! I just realized I just had a professional experience with this.
  • Flash can handle 3D.
  • And a presentation from Jorge Calleja of W+K on Get the Glass Campaign.

Whew… off to bed :)

Buzz is not enough… Let your customer (not only) do the talking, but also do the selling and do the promotions..!!

Categories : EventsOctovate

Winner of WOM case study is….. Samsung..!!!

Last friday was great. I see lots of marketers passionately discuss on their own table group, how to make their customer talk, promote and sell their product/service. That’s right, in this competitive era with abundance of choices, marketer should be more creative and creating program that can make word of mouth. I can say the best medium for marketing your product or service.

People believe their friends/others instead of advertisement. But I didn’t say that we don’t need ads, if you have lots of budget, make advertisement that create buzz to increase your MOUTH SHARE.

Although, Buzz is not enough anymore. Now it’s the era of MEANING MAKER, where we create the story/topic to ensure our talkers have something to talk about and easier for them to promote and even (why not) selling.

Mavens - Word of Mouth

During the workshop, each table choose one real product/service from their table. So you’ll hear Blue Bird case on one table, Vita Charm on the other end, ANteve, Polygon, DRtv, Smart, Rolling Stone Magazine and although most of the case was good we have to decide only 1 winner, the table with a case from Samsung new handphone.

The phone is very unique, although looks slim and stylist but Samsung creatively made it for those people who used to be clumsy with their phone. This 3G phone with shock resistance sell for only 1,5 Million Rupiah.

Oh My Goodness, now I became their ‘TALKERS’
