Goodbye Alex Ferguson
Most of us do believe that this is the era of consumer so-called as user-generated, consumer-generated and other sexy buzzword.
Starting from marketing communication world of which lot of advertisers shift their focus to consumer-generated ads, now it moves to company ownership. Most of us do aware that the most valuable football club currently is Manchester United with its white-hair Alex Ferguson as the manager
in UK, My Football Club introduced for the first time in history, fans have the opportunity to buy and take the control of a professional football club. Fans can choose which players should in and out.
Recently, they just bought Ebbsfleet United FC in UK — not so well-known club– but in fact it starts to show us the new new concept of football club ownership. One thing that matter most is the power of consumers! they will be the one who control companies and brands!!!
Bird’s Nest Stadium
When i came back to Surabaya last saturday, my Mom told me about my dad’s friend, Sasa. My Mom asked me “masi inget tante Sasa yang bikin Citibank itu loh?” and she gave me a newspaper. I received it very lazy because sleepy, haha. but after read the third paragraph i was really shocked. And i said to my Mom “i want to meet her soon, find me a way”. Yeah, Sasa or Dr. Ir. Lilian Sasmita MSc. and her husband Dr. Ir. Samuel Mulyono MSc. are part of the consultant for Beijing National Stadium which gonna be the venue for opening and closing the magic 8888 event. Wow wow! Passion for going global? Let’s keep up your Passion!
An Offer I Can’t refuse, The show must go on!
This week has sucked the energy out of me, but at the same time, has drenched me with a new kind of energy. In a nutshell, that’s how I felt this past week.
As the chief of the highly passionate Octopus Team, I have spent the whole last week preparing for the trip of a lifetime, commemorating our 2nd anniversary. A trip full of passion, wildness, and satisfaction. Five individuals from different backgrounds were gathered to brainstorm, and plan the event. As a result, PASSION TRIP was born.
The event was to be held in Bali for a full three days. Three main events were planned; Passionrace, Passion Jackass, and Passion Show. The team worked days and night to do a field survey, find some coordinators and locations for the passion race. Not to mention, passport for each individuals were also put together up to the last minute.
It all went down seamlessly up until two days before the event. The phone rang… a voice on the other end said; “Bernhard, congratulation! You got the project.” It was Dino Patti Djalal, the special staff of the president. I was left frozen. The octopus icon and the face of President SBY were floating on my mind.
When two equally hefty task need to be done, when both has to run smoothly, there need to be a sacrifice…. For this reason, I was on four flights between Jakarta-Bali within 48 hours. There is no way I am going to back down from this achievement that we all have worked hard for in the past couple of months. It was my love for my Octopus Team that made me stay for at least a couple hours in between their events.
My Point is I would like to send a big THANKS to all of the passionate committee and to all passionate octokers.
I might have missed a lot of those passionate moments, but I can still feel your energetic passion, the new spirit that makes us different.
Guys, hopefully, with our second anniversary, we can learn what it is like to be passionate in work, struggle, fight, and play.
Once again, on behalf of the management, I would like to express my true gratitude for all your effort that has brought us to be who we are today.
God Bless you all.
