A case of mistaken identity

Categories : BrandingCreative Business

The new XEROX logo. Many said looked like XBOX logo. And oh, the objective is that they don’t want to be known as just a copy machine company btw. And here’s one of the comments made on some design forum which i think is hillarious…

Why didn’t anyone think of this sooner?

Categories : Creative BusinessIdea

The idea is right in front of everyone’s nose, but yet….. This is so cool and makes me wanna get my hands on those Macbook Air just so I can carry around this super cool realistic lookin laptop case… It’s been a huge hit in the states. They also did a pretty decent job making the online store appears like it’s a link of the official apple website. Smart move guys…..

When Music Creates Buzz

Categories : CommunicationInteractive

Today I went to dinner with some friends after having a late lunch meeting (yes it’s Sunday and should be sabbath). One of my friend which is a very talented fashion editor at Bazaar and also a regular reader of this blog asked, why this blog has gone silence this past two weeks. Well if you’re having the same thought, the reason is we’re dead busy, classique answer. Yup, dead busy but for me personally it’s exciting. Ok, so here goes my first post in 2008.

One of our neighbor country has done a very effective TVC for one of its destination city, well at least I and some people on the net are captured. I’m quite sure that this campaign will be buzzed around in the upcoming month. It’s Korea for Hi Seoul TVC. I first saw this campaign earlier this month on MTV, but I think this is a campaign for 2007.
The commercial is so MTV style, and I guess they really wanted to target this MTV generation. There are two smart elements that makes this ad grabs my attention. First off is the intro, where a dog asked to a really boring girl whether she recently saw a talking dog, and the girl was so damn bored that she just point out a direction to her left with her blank eyes stare with no excitement nor surprised that she just met one. Then come the second part which pretty much standard beauty shot of night life in the city. It’s not the visual that captured my attention and I’m not saying that the visual is bad at all, but what makes this ad get buzzed is the soundtrack. The music is very catchy chillin’ up tempo beat, simple lyric and very easy to remember. So the next action for me was open up my laptop went to Google and start throwing keywords into the magic box.

And here comes the buzz. This quest started to become exciting when I found out that there are many people are also looking for this, asked this in Yahoo!Answers and blog this and you can’t find the good quality video of this ad anywhere on the net (at least until yesterday I couldn’t find one), but instead you’ll find this video getting taped by a cellphone stratight form the TV and someone has put this up in Youtube.

Nasi Liwet at Garuda Indonesia Lounge

Categories : Inspirations

Few days ago, I visited Garuda Indonesia Lounge - while waiting for my flight to Bali to give an hour presentation about Word of Mouth (WOM) for Danone (Aqua & Mizone) team at Novotel Nusa Dua.

Unusual experience happened when I’m going to have something to eat as I haven’t have my breakfast at home. I saw a queue…. yup, there was a queue for a food stall - what an unusual look at the Garuda Lounge.

Then I found out, they all queue to have Nasi Liwet. Then, I queue and get my Nasi Liwet. Yummy…

Congrats to Garuda Indonesia who keep on improving their lounge (not only interior wise) and start giving something that not only good to eat but also remarkable and makes me talk to my friends.

As we all know, many lounge in our domestic area always give a standard items to offer. The food were all okay but that’s it… don’t expect for more. So much different experience when you visit other International Carrier’s lounge.

I hope with the good profit result of Garuda Indonesia in the past few years, they can maintain and keep on upgrading their service to reach their target to become a respected player in Asia.

Nasi Liwet is just a small thing with big impact.

A friend of mine said, “Although Nasi Liwet is not that expensive but if everybody in lounge took it, then Garuda will end up paying a lot, it’s better they serve the standard menu. Maybe your Nasi Liwet won’t stay long”

I hope my friend is wrong. I hope Garuda will keep Nasi Liwet and not only that they will add more remarkable stuff in their lounge. We’ll see… What do you think will happened?

Google Health?

Categories : Idea

I just read an article in TechCrunch by Duncan Riley about Google Health. Wow i think that’s impressive. I just cut and paste from the article “With Google Health, you can:* Build online health profiles that belong to you* Download medical records from doctors and pharmacies* Get personalized health guidance and relevant news* Find qualified doctors and connect to time-saving services* Share selected information with family or caregivers”. Stay Healthy with Google Health. Hahaha.
