Social networking goes emotional

Categories : Other

How’re you guys? So, last saturday I met with 2 friends who are - I will say - FB (facebook) addicts. Okay, if some of you already have FB, then you might understand what I’m gonna share here. But if you haven’t had any FB account, just try to follow this story, hehe (or you might end up with signing-up a new account). So, I was totally surprised when my friend told me that she has the fastest fluff in the world. Yes! in the world! You can check the link here. She gives her fluff (you don’t know what fluff is?? come on, sign-up FB account!) named mongkie. Hmmm.. Okay, let me give you short brief about fluff. It is an application inside facebook that allows you to have a pet (they call it fluff), and you can ‘pet’ it, ‘feed’ it, and do many other things. If you ‘feed’ the fluff, it will gain an increase in its speed. If you’re a fluffer, you will know how hard to increase your fluff’s speed. And my friend is now #1 all over the world. Her fluff is the fastest! She says that she can be #1 because a lot of fluffers are ‘feeding’ her fluff (you can check the mongkie profile here). A lot of her friends are proud of her and so loving her that they want mongkie to -always- be the fastest fluff in the world. One day, there was a ‘competitor’ (named blue cow) who wanted to beat mongkie, and you know… all of mongkie’s (loving) friends are put their everything to make mongkie be #1, always. So, last saturday, she told me that she cried because of that, and here I post part of my ‘interview’ with her :

9:10:34 PM Adhiatma: so actually, what made you cry?
9:11:14 PM babypunk85: hmm.. the feeling that I am so loved… Overwhelmed with love actually..
9:11:25 PM babypunk85: and the thought that.. who am i?
9:11:34 PM babypunk85: Do i deserve that ammounts of foods?
9:11:48 PM Adhiatma: so actually, what do you think made them doing those for you?
9:11:55 PM babypunk85: can you imagine how much food they dedicate for my fluff, so that mongkie can be that fast?
9:12:52 PM babypunk85: I guess they love me..
9:13:05 PM Adhiatma: why do they love you?
9:13:24 PM babypunk85: That’s it. I don’t know..
9:13:35 PM babypunk85: guess i’m just a lucky girl
9:13:51 PM babypunk85: love to fluff and having silly conversation with them…
9:14:16 PM Adhiatma: i see
9:14:26 PM Adhiatma: so tell me short story about blue cow(ard)
9:16:46 PM babypunk85: this is a message from someone that i dont even know who he is before
9:16:58 PM babypunk85: at that ‘day’
9:17:08 PM babypunk85: Don Chan

Report Message

Freddy Wang has been petting for the last 8 days, and saved up all the munny to feed Cowe in one massive feeding… (That’s an average of 3,750 pettings per day x 5 munny, 235 pettings per hour, or 4 pets per minute, for 16 hours a day - I assume he needs 8 hours of sleep, and eating, and going to the loo…)

8 days ago he was at barely 100,234 fph, and 5 days before that, he was at 26,455 fph… when I was tracked Freddy’s Cowe progress and logged it.

The Fluffbook SiteAdmin at the Fluff Forum says there is a kid in Singapore that keeps writing scripts after scripts to automate fluff petting, not sure if she meant Freddy or not…

Freddy can not be FaceBook messaged to… (thinks he turned it off on purpose)

-Doggy&Don

9:17:41 PM babypunk85: this is sooo special for me
9:17:48 PM babypunk85: I dont even know him
9:18:06 PM babypunk85: And from his message, I knew that the admins is watching over me too!
9:18:29 PM babypunk85: They know everything.

2008:Building a Healthy Foundation

Categories : InspirationsOctovate

Happy New Year all!!
It’s been 2 grueling years of finding qualified team members, training, struggling, and entering many big battles. With it, we have also experienced several great victories. Entering this third year, will our days be a mere continuation of what has passed?

Many have stated that the first three years are the most crucial stage. It is the trial phase for a company to prove themselves, whether their concept can really be executed and such. Like in motion pictures, the third installment in a trilogy is the climax; the peak of what has been weaved in the episodes before.

So what action will we take in this coming third year to path our ways to the years ahead?

The answer lies in these two elements:

1. Healthy Year

Going back to our vision in OCTOVATE Group, we strive to make this company the most passionate and healthiest place. We truly hope that this will not be just a vision, a formality for the company, but will become something that OCTOVATE family truly embodies.

Let’s take a moment to think about the word HEALTH and PASSION.

Work and career are two significant life components. Those are the vehicles that enable us to pursue our goals in life. In that case, if the environment in which we work is not healthy and passionate enough, what effects will it has on our own physical and mental wellbeing?

If in these past two years we’ve experienced the importance of passion, this next year will be the time we all start to focus ourselves to pay more attention to our health; not just the physical aspect of health, but health in a broader perspective. Take baby steps by entering the year with passion to work, creating a fun working surrounding, being selective in choosing our battles, and in the end enjoying a healthy reward financially as well.

Being healthy is much easier said than done. It takes high level of commitment and discipline. There need to be a lot of improvement in system, from the project management side, human resource, and off course the finance side.

2. New Creative Business Galaxy

While in the micro plan, we’ve established 2008 as the year to be healthy, in the macro plan; we are aiming to strengthen OCTOVATE’s position as a major player in the creative industry group by continuously developing our business while staying true to our vision.

There will be several new innovations on our behalf, such as mobile division, music label, film investment & production, Internet, and many more new businesses that we feel is still staying true to our creative and commercial goal.

In conclusion, the two points above will most likely be our focus in the year 2008. No doubt, with our passion for knowledge, innovation, and achievement, we will blaze through this prospective New Year.

Without further a do, I would like to say Good Luck Octokers. God bless you all!!

Welcome 2008

Categories : Inspirations

Happy new year to all of you! In the first day of 2008, i wanna share to you a lil’ thing which i read these days. I learned about young boy named Ben Casnocha. Ben currently 19 years old now and started his business at 12 years old. What a f*ck fantastic story. I felt like being punch in my face, haha. In the third chapter there is an article about “feedback, feedback, feedback.” I felt that in the early of this new year in our life we really need this as our fuel to run and jump in this year. Feedback is a key ingredient for success. Obtaining feedback can simply mean the difference between success and failure. Talk to people. Invite critiques and criticism. Learn from others. Stay humble. Stay hungry, stay foolish. I’ll start now! Please give me critiques and feedbacks by put comments in this article or send to my email yandezrus@gmail.com. I really need it and i really appreciate to whom send to me. God bless you all! Happy New Year 2008!!
