Can you get Big and stay Small?

Categories : Inspirations

According to Howard Schultz, the founder of Starbucks, “We have to balance Creativity and Entrepreneur with Process and Strategy”

Simple words I read on Business Week, which I subscribe digitally. With the growth of the business, how can we stay small?  It’s hard to refuse sexy projects that keep on coming.  It’s hard to keep on hiring employees; office won’t be enough again and again.

IMHO, we better stay small but keep on working on sexy projects in order to create success story for our clients.  Satisfied client will ‘promote’ us to another client.  Then we will focus on bigger project from time to time, working based on priorities prospect.

Small makes us easier to move. Easier to innovate.  Just like Octopus maybe, not like elephant :)

So, bigger office yes.  More employees? Have to think twice ;-p

1000% agree!!! if you are too big, too difficult to move, no flexibility and to some extent trapped in “doing ritual activities” with no innovation at all

the challenge is how to grow the business with the “right” people with “small company” attitude, once we “feel small”, we always want to move faster with more energy to beat “the big one”. so get big money with small company attitude
