Virgle - another Branson’s CRAZY Idea

Categories : Idea

This morning when I did my daily ‘gooder’ routine, I was caught up with one article. Some of you might already hear about it (especially if you are a regular ‘google reader’ reader). Sir Richard Branson has just announced his joint venture with 2 genius guys from Google to create new company, called Virgle (from Virgin and Google). Allow me to paste his statement here :”Virgle’s goal is simple: the establishment of a permanent human settlement on Mars. Larry Page, Sergey Brin and I feel strongly that contemporary technology is sufficiently advanced to make such an effort both successful and economical, and that it’s high time that humanity moved beyond Earth and began our great, long journey to explore the stars and establish our first lasting foothold on another world.” So, the world we live in is moving so fast, too fast maybe. And that idea is quite inspiring, since the world is too crowded, while the green issue is emerging. So why don’t we move to Mars? Let’s just see another 30 years..

Social networking goes emotional

Categories : Other

How’re you guys? So, last saturday I met with 2 friends who are - I will say - FB (facebook) addicts. Okay, if some of you already have FB, then you might understand what I’m gonna share here. But if you haven’t had any FB account, just try to follow this story, hehe (or you might end up with signing-up a new account). So, I was totally surprised when my friend told me that she has the fastest fluff in the world. Yes! in the world! You can check the link here. She gives her fluff (you don’t know what fluff is?? come on, sign-up FB account!) named mongkie. Hmmm.. Okay, let me give you short brief about fluff. It is an application inside facebook that allows you to have a pet (they call it fluff), and you can ‘pet’ it, ‘feed’ it, and do many other things. If you ‘feed’ the fluff, it will gain an increase in its speed. If you’re a fluffer, you will know how hard to increase your fluff’s speed. And my friend is now #1 all over the world. Her fluff is the fastest! She says that she can be #1 because a lot of fluffers are ‘feeding’ her fluff (you can check the mongkie profile here). A lot of her friends are proud of her and so loving her that they want mongkie to -always- be the fastest fluff in the world. One day, there was a ‘competitor’ (named blue cow) who wanted to beat mongkie, and you know… all of mongkie’s (loving) friends are put their everything to make mongkie be #1, always. So, last saturday, she told me that she cried because of that, and here I post part of my ‘interview’ with her :

9:10:34 PM Adhiatma: so actually, what made you cry?
9:11:14 PM babypunk85: hmm.. the feeling that I am so loved… Overwhelmed with love actually..
9:11:25 PM babypunk85: and the thought that.. who am i?
9:11:34 PM babypunk85: Do i deserve that ammounts of foods?
9:11:48 PM Adhiatma: so actually, what do you think made them doing those for you?
9:11:55 PM babypunk85: can you imagine how much food they dedicate for my fluff, so that mongkie can be that fast?
9:12:52 PM babypunk85: I guess they love me..
9:13:05 PM Adhiatma: why do they love you?
9:13:24 PM babypunk85: That’s it. I don’t know..
9:13:35 PM babypunk85: guess i’m just a lucky girl
9:13:51 PM babypunk85: love to fluff and having silly conversation with them…
9:14:16 PM Adhiatma: i see
9:14:26 PM Adhiatma: so tell me short story about blue cow(ard)
9:16:46 PM babypunk85: this is a message from someone that i dont even know who he is before
9:16:58 PM babypunk85: at that ‘day’
9:17:08 PM babypunk85: Don Chan

Report Message

Freddy Wang has been petting for the last 8 days, and saved up all the munny to feed Cowe in one massive feeding… (That’s an average of 3,750 pettings per day x 5 munny, 235 pettings per hour, or 4 pets per minute, for 16 hours a day - I assume he needs 8 hours of sleep, and eating, and going to the loo…)

8 days ago he was at barely 100,234 fph, and 5 days before that, he was at 26,455 fph… when I was tracked Freddy’s Cowe progress and logged it.

The Fluffbook SiteAdmin at the Fluff Forum says there is a kid in Singapore that keeps writing scripts after scripts to automate fluff petting, not sure if she meant Freddy or not…

Freddy can not be FaceBook messaged to… (thinks he turned it off on purpose)

-Doggy&Don

9:17:41 PM babypunk85: this is sooo special for me
9:17:48 PM babypunk85: I dont even know him
9:18:06 PM babypunk85: And from his message, I knew that the admins is watching over me too!
9:18:29 PM babypunk85: They know everything.

3D illusion - Innovative ideas for communication ?

Categories : CommunicationInspirations

Hello everyone.. Time goes so so fast, today is the first day on the last month of this year.Today - as I told you, I’m making it as a habit - I read my google reader, and I find this interesting topic. It’s about 3d street illusion. From design point of view, it is creative. But I see from communication point of view, it might be used for marketing/communication/promotion ideas.. I mean who won’t take a look on that 3d picture? Here is the link of the article

Eye-fi SD Card

Categories : Other

This morning I browsed my google reader, looked for some inspirations, ideas, and also tried to make this as a morning habit. And then I found this article about eye-fi SD card.

I don’t know if some of you might already know about this, but I just wanna share it here though. Maybe this is simple idea, but many times I face the problem when we go for trip, with our cameras, then the common problem is: it usually will need connection cable or card reader to share the photos. And I think this SD card will partly solve that problem, huh?

Never scrounge around for a USB cable again! Eye-fi is a magical orange SD memory card that will not only store 2GB worth of pictures, it’ll upload them to your computer, and to Flickr, Facebook, Picasa (or 14 others) wirelessly, invisibly, automatically!

This little guy looks like a normal 2GB memory card and works with nearly any camera that takes SD memory. There are no antennas, no protrusions, no subscription fees, and no cables.

Here’s how it works: You set up the card once with the included USB card reader (tell it which wireless network it should use, and type in the password if you have one), choose the photo sharing service of your choice (you have plenty of options), then slip the card in your camera.

Think Positive +

Categories : Inspirations

This morning -on the last day of passion trip- I spent some of my breakfast time with Pak Gunadi, and we ended up discussing about positive thinking.
If in my previous posting, I wrote about ‘the power of imagination’, now I would like to share my experiences about + thinking positive +
I planned to go back to surabaya this morning, but I couldn’t find any tickets, then I decided to keep the positive spirit. (at least I have a privilege to taste bu Oka’s suckling pig, though honestly it was the Word of Mouth that made it being scaled ‘world class’, hehehe..)

Back to the topic…
Then I arrived in surabaya.. and when I was waiting for taxi, I saw that there’re 2 types of airport taxies (the old-bad one & the new-vios taxi). I was in queue line, and I tried my ‘think positive’ power, “I’m sure I will have the vios one”, and EXACTLY.. a couple in front of me had the old taxi, and I had the vios taxi.
Yeah, you can say it was coincidentally happened. Okay..Okay.. I arrived at 5.20 PM, and I know for sure it’s gonna be crowded traffic. Then I tried again my power of positive thinking, “I know the traffic is crowded, but I will not get caught in traffic jam, I will have smooth back-home-trip”
And, believe it or not.. it happened guys!

Yoris and Pak Gunadi told me about a book titled “The Secret”. That book discussed about positive thinking. I’m curious enough now to read that book. And if there’s anyone who would like to share about that book, I’ll be more than happy to hear it.

So, guys.. start practicing the positive thinking lifestyle?
