Silent Disco 2005 & 2008

Categories : EventsInspirationsMarketing

CouchSurfing - Travel abroad and stay in a couch

Categories : InspirationsOther

The era of web 2.0 is getting crazier than ever.  Friendster gone, Facebook Rules! Most of my friends now have their facebook account (Who doesn’t?). But this web 2.0 is different, I was wondering…  because so far none of my friend that I know, registered here.

CouchSurfing.com is a social network just like Facebook but this one allow you to pick a friend overseas to stay in their couch.  Just now when I browse, there were 342 Indonesian listed and offer their sofa to be used.  Is it safe? I think so, because many Singaporeans listed here too (1033) while our other neighbor, Australia even have 7026 couches available!!

And it’s even better because you can see the profile of the person who offer the  couch, so you can choose the one who share the similar interest with you.  If you like to talk about Design then you choose those who like Design. You like Music then you choose someone like Music. So when you meet, they can tell you where to go perfectly in a local perspective.

So it’s not only because you can travel without paying a hotel room ;-) Dare to join?

Nasi Liwet at Garuda Indonesia Lounge

Categories : Inspirations

Few days ago, I visited Garuda Indonesia Lounge - while waiting for my flight to Bali to give an hour presentation about Word of Mouth (WOM) for Danone (Aqua & Mizone) team at Novotel Nusa Dua.

Unusual experience happened when I’m going to have something to eat as I haven’t have my breakfast at home. I saw a queue…. yup, there was a queue for a food stall - what an unusual look at the Garuda Lounge.

Then I found out, they all queue to have Nasi Liwet. Then, I queue and get my Nasi Liwet. Yummy…

Congrats to Garuda Indonesia who keep on improving their lounge (not only interior wise) and start giving something that not only good to eat but also remarkable and makes me talk to my friends.

As we all know, many lounge in our domestic area always give a standard items to offer. The food were all okay but that’s it… don’t expect for more. So much different experience when you visit other International Carrier’s lounge.

I hope with the good profit result of Garuda Indonesia in the past few years, they can maintain and keep on upgrading their service to reach their target to become a respected player in Asia.

Nasi Liwet is just a small thing with big impact.

A friend of mine said, “Although Nasi Liwet is not that expensive but if everybody in lounge took it, then Garuda will end up paying a lot, it’s better they serve the standard menu. Maybe your Nasi Liwet won’t stay long”

I hope my friend is wrong. I hope Garuda will keep Nasi Liwet and not only that they will add more remarkable stuff in their lounge. We’ll see… What do you think will happened?

I am Legend

Categories : InspirationsOther

I just watch this movie today. It was a great movie, great act, good to see something you’ve never seen before (i’ve been to nyc but seeing the city fallin apart? see the movie poster of Superman and Batman become one movie?) and it was unpredicted. Well, I don’t wanna end up tell the story, in case many of you haven’t watch the movie… you better be fast, it’s better to watch it in the movie theatre… with all the sound effects.

But, the songs from Bob Marley still running in my head… it was a good ‘hook’ repeated several times in the movie.

In that movie, Dr. Neville (Will Smith) mentioned regarding Bob Marley’s quotes saying something like “Music can bring peace to many races” and now we can see many bands having multi races in a band (last one that i saw, was Mika live performance in Hongkong and his bassist is Korean)

We can see many people from all over the world gather around during Glastonbury (UK), Big Day Out (Australia) and many other music festivals to celebrate music in togetherness.

In Indonesia, I even can say “Creative Technology has brought peace in Indonesian youngster”

Yup, all the gadgets, the gaming consoles and the social networking sites has made Indonesian youngster busy until they don’t have time to fight anymore. According to my friend, Yongky from Nielsen on the last Indonesian Marketing Forum 07, the only crime that showing decrease in numbers is student fights. All other crime has increased in Indonesia, but student fights reduced.

When I was a teenager, most of newspaper and magazine always covered the student fights. Maybe because there’s nothing really interesting for young students to do those days… skipping schools and go to the malls? I did ;-p

We are entering the 2008 very soon. Remember that, in what we do, we could do many good things to impact others. I remember the ads done by OctoComm for Gudang Garam during the National Education Day… hopefully we can (continue) do many of positive impact in 2008
