ASUS AURA - iPhone like concept

Categories : DesignIdeamobile

This is Aura concept phone designed by Egy Studio for Asus. Some people said the phone is inspire by the Apple iPhone, may be. Apple iPhone is really attractive and i like it but actually those technology used by iPhone are not new. For example, the so called Accelerometer sensor, you can find similar feature in Sharp’s 911SH.

The Asus Aura concept does more then iPhone. It supports 3G, EDGE, HSDPA and WiFi. It has a 3.9-inch touchscreen, a 2Megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0, a microSD slot, miniUSB. THere is also a sliding QWERTY keyboard. The Aura is as thin as 6mm.

Nano Technology

Categories : DesignIdeaInspirationsmobile

May be it’s way to early to talk about this topic. If you asked me about this topic, I would say I don’t know. But from what I heard and read, nano technology is a science that’ll make a piece of substance able to adapt in dimension and form CMIIW. So today, after circling around Jakarta, I browse Youtube and found this inspiring video.

I would be awesome to have this kind of device. Sure Cambridge and Nokia Research has something cooking in their labs.

Beautiful Political

Categories : CommunicationDesign

First off, I’m not taking sides or anything, cause I kinda hate the subject, but I really dig this Political campaign of Obama. It’s beautifully done. I like the poster done by Obey. Man, Obey did your poster what more could you ask.

Better yet, will.i.am sung your song.

And it stuck in my head “Yes We Can.” that’s a really powerful line man “Yes We Can.”

Digital Sculpture

Categories : DesignInspirations

Just got back from the movie. I watched Rambo, the blood was all over the screen, it’s a so-so movie I would say.

I hit on Youtube and find this interesting piece done by Troika this piece is a digital sculpture, that’s what they said, and they named it “Cloud”. This was done for British Airways Terminal 5.

Complete story can be read here.

A cubicle called home

Categories : DesignIdeaInspirations

I recently came across this. The idea is not new, we all have tried to personalize our working space at some point to some extend. But these guys form  Balcom agency  just took it to a step further. Apparently the white walls and awful built-ins with imitation formica were killing the creative spirit so they decided to renovate the space. Each employee was given a $300 allowance, a new desk and new chair to redo their cubicles (some used their own additional money). At first they thought it might end up looking chaotic, but they all were pleasantly surprised with the result, which they said makes the space more homey.I guess the only problem is if one of them resign.. imagine the overhauling process. Other than that, i think it’s pretty awesome.   Hmm, what if……
